Lorne Michaels revealed that Taylor Swift once requested him to cancel a “Saturday Night Live” sketch that poked fun at her “girl squad,” but he refused to comply.

 

In a recent interview with Vulture, the “SNL” creator recounted how he had reached out to Swift’s management team, asking if the pop star could make a surprise cameo on the show.

The sketch in question was a parody of her “Bad Blood” music video, reimagining it as an apocalyptic cult in 2015.

 

According to Michaels, Swift later contacted him personally and asked him to remove the sketch while also making it clear that she would not be participating in a cameo.

 

Michaels said he listened to Swift’s concerns but ultimately decided to proceed with the sketch as planned.

 

“Taylor, I do not negotiate with terrorists,” Michaels reportedly told her at the time.

 

Following the sketch’s airing, Michaels found a bouquet of flowers in his office sent by the “Cruel Summer” singer.

 

“I hope there’s no bad blood,” read the note attached.

 

It appears there were no lingering issues between the two, as Swift later performed as the show’s musical guest in 2017, 2019, and 2021.

 

She also made an unexpected appearance in 2023 to introduce Ice Spice as the musical guest.

 

The “Bad Blood” parody featured Tina Fey and Amy Poehler assembling their “Dope Squad” alongside guest stars Amy Schumer, Gayle King, and Robert Downey Sr.
