Kayce Dutton fans, we have reason to be optimistic that we haven’t seen the last of the youngest Dutton sibling. Luke Grimes is reportedly in talks to reprise his role in a new Yellowstone spinoff. Here’s what we know.

This is expected to be a separate spinoff from the one starring Kayce’s sister Beth (Kelly Reilly) and her husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), which is in pre-production. It’s also different from The Madison, yet another Yellowstone spinoff starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Patrick J. Adams, expected to premiere in 2026.

What about Kayce’s family, Monica and Tate? The involvement of Kelsey Asbille and Brecken Merrill has not been confirmed. At the end of Yellowstone, Kayce sold the Dutton ranch back to Thomas Rainwater and the Broken Rock Indian Reservation but planned to live on a portion of the property with his family.

It’s all a part of the ever-expanding universe created by Taylor Sheridan. In addition to Yellowstone, prequels 1883 and 1923 have already aired, and it now sounds like at least three more are in the works. These join Taylor’s other non-Yellowstone shows on Paramount+, including Landman, Lioness, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Tulsa King, and Mayor of Kingstown. Luke Grimes’s show would be the first to air on CBS.
