According to Variety, on the evening of August 26, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce shared the good news on Instagram with a series of photos and a humorous caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

The photo series captures the moment Travis Kelce got down on one knee to propose in a rose garden, with a close-up of the sparkling diamond ring.

The engagement ring is said to be an Old Mine Brilliant cut set on a delicate gold band. Taylor Swift also did not forget to “zoom” in close so fans could see every detail clearly.

Page Six reports that the piece is from Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The exact value has not been disclosed, but expert Daniela Tarantino estimates it could be anywhere from $750,000 to $1 million.

While rumors have long suggested that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been secretly engaged, the truth is that the proposal happened less than two weeks ago.

Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, shared: “Travis Kelce actually proposed about two weeks ago. He originally planned to do it this week, to make it really grand and special. I kept telling him over and over again: he can propose anywhere, even on the side of the road, because just getting down on one knee and asking the question will make the moment special.”

Finally, Travis Kelce chose a garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. This was a complete surprise to Taylor Swift: “The two of them were going to dinner, Travis Kelce asked Taylor Swift out to the garden for a glass of wine. And then, he proposed to her right there. It was beautiful. Then they both FaceTimed me, her mom, and Taylor Swift’s family to share the good news.”

After that moment, Mr. Ed Kelce also had the opportunity to meet the couple again: “Taylor Swift even cooked dinner herself, we ate together in the yard. Seeing the two of them clinging to each other, it was really cute.”
