‘It is a Travesty!’ Fox News Host Slams Trump’s Decision to Pull Mike Pompeo’s Security Amid Iran Threats

Fox News host Emily Compagno — normally a reliable booster of President Donald Trump — slammed his decision to remove the Secret Service security for former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo amid threats from Iran.

Following his inauguration, one of the first decisions Trump made in the Oval Office was removing the security detail for Pompeo along with other former administration officials, including former national security adviser John Bolton and Dr. Anthony Fauci.

During a Wednesday episode of Outnumbered, Compagno called Trump’s decision to remove Pompeo’s security a “travesty” and encouraged the president to reinstate it because he took “bold steps against those terrorist thugs and against a terrorist dictatorial state.”

I think respectfully to the president, it is a travesty that the security detail of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was deactivated. I think it is a travesty that after they swore retribution, additional retribution against all of our officials, including Mike Pompeo, for the assassination of Qasem Soleimani, additional retribution in September 2020. We talk about where our tax dollars go. It is not about extinguishing expenditures altogether. It is about the appropriate stewardship. And as we warn Iran about the might that the United States of America is, that includes a protection around our elected officials and our patriots who have saved American lives by taking bold steps against those terrorist thugs and against a terrorist dictatorial state. So to me, I hope, Mr. President, you reinstate that security detail, among others.
