In her newly released memoir, Lisa Marie Presley – Elvis Presley’s daughter said that she was sexually abused by her mother’s ex-boyfriend – actor Mike Edwards.

After Elvis Presley’s death in 1977, Lisa Marie moved to Los Angeles to live full-time with her mother, Priscilla Presley (married and lived with the “king of rock and roll” Elvis from 1967 to 1973).

In From Here to the Great Unknown, which was released on October 8, Lisa Marie alleged that Edwards (who played Joan Crawford’s lover in the 1981 film Mommie Dearest) sneaked into her room in the middle of the night and stroked her legs.

“Edwards said he would teach me what happens when I grow up. He put his hand on my chest and said a man would touch me and put his hand between my legs and say they were going to touch you here. He kissed me gently, then left,” Lisa Marie Presley, then 10, wrote in her memoir.

She told her mother the next day. Lisa wrote: “Mom flew into the room and slammed the door. Finally she called me in and said Edwards wanted to apologize… Edwards sat on the bed with a sad and sulky face… He said, ‘I’m so sorry, but in Europe, that’s how they teach children, so that’s what I did.’”

But Lisa insists in the book, the abuse doesn’t stop there. “He finally touched me and hit me, telling me not to look at him masturbating. He did it very calmly while sitting in the chair, then hit me on the buttocks and bruise,” Elvis Presley’s daughter wrote.

Lisa Marie said that after she showed Priscilla the bruises, her mother asked, “So what did you do to cause that?”

Edwards, now 80, denies all allegations. “I’m shocked, that’s not true… I’m like a father to Lisa Marie,” he told Page Six, adding that no one from the book’s publisher had called him to ask about the incident.

On June 4, 1966, Edwards married flight attendant Grace Ward, of Boston, with whom they had a daughter, Caroline, born in 1967. Edwards and Ward divorced in October 1968, after which he dated Priscilla Presley between 1977 and 1984.

In his 1988 book Elvis, Priscilla and Me, Edwards wrote that he “craved Lisa.” “Priscilla and I used to be inseparable, but now Lisa and I are together almost every day. Soon, I find myself looking at the clock, waiting for Lisa’s time to get out of school, just as Elvis used to eagerly wait for Priscilla to return to Graceland after every day of school,” Edwards confesses.

In the same book, Edwards writes, “Once, when Priscilla and I were sitting at the dinner table and Lisa was sitting between us, she got up to grab something from the fridge and her bare knee accidentally touched my hand. It transmitted waves of lust through me. I looked at Priscilla and thought, ‘You don’t see what’s going on. I’ve fallen in love with your daughter.’”

Lisa Marie claimed that “the abuse went on for several years, Edwards lived with Priscilla for seven years, and their relationship was full of violence,” according to the memoir.

Lisa Marie, Elvis Presley’s only daughter, died in January 2023 at the age of 55, leaving behind many tapes from which her eldest daughter – actress Riley Keough co-wrote a memoir.
